The Supported Lodgings Service is designed to help a young person aged 16-21 who is leaving care or is in a housing crisis.

A young person once in Supported Lodging accommodation may remain there beyond the age of 21 where this is assessed as appropriate by the Supported Lodgings Service Provider. The Host will give a young person support to build on their ‘day-to-day’ life skills in order to move on successfully to live on their own.

You will be regularly supervised and supported by a link worker during the time the young person is staying with you.

You will receive ongoing training through the Service to help you support the Young Person.

A Young Person may stay with you for a few days, months or even longer.

References will be required and medical and police checks carried out. Only certain serious criminal convictions will automatically disqualify you from being a supported lodgings host.
